How to Transfer

Each airline has its own transfer arrangements at Darwin International Airport, so please check with your airline for details.  In some cases, you will be issued with two boarding passes and your bags will be transferred.  However, if you plan to book with separate airlines, here's a snapshop of how easy transfers are.

Complete the immigration formalities, and proceed to the ground floor to the baggage reclaim hall.  After you have collected your luggage, proceed through customs inspection.  To minimize delays at customs inspection, please ensure that you have filled out your declaration form correctly.

Important Information

Booking your flights online can save you hundreds of dollars in airfares.  However, please be mindful that low cost airlines are point to point airlines, and therefore responsibility for making your connecting service rests with you.

In general, you should allow at least 2 hours between connecting flights.  Check-in for international flights generally close 45 minutes before departure time, with domestic check-in closing strictly 30-45 minutes prior to departure.  Please check with the airline you are travelling with to confirm these details.  You may wish to consider travel insurance for missed connections in the unlikely event that your flight schedule is disrupted.
